Warrant Division

The Warrants Division is comprised of one supervising Sergeant, three Deputies and an NCIC Technician. The Sheriff's Department receives warrants issued by several courts in Rockingham County. As the warrants are received, the NCIC Technician enters them into the appropriate data base. Deputies are assigned the warrants after they are entered into the system. It's the responsibility of that Deputy to locate and apprehend individulas wanted by this agency.

When authorized by the Rockingham County Attorney's Office, Deputies travel to other states extraditing fugitives back to New Hampshire. The extradition limits are set by the County Attorney's Office and are generally based upon the nature of the underlying offense.

Additionally, Warrant Deputies handle the "Fugitive from Justice" complaints on individuals housed at the Rockingham County Jail. Detainers are filed at the jail on defendants wanted by other states.

Deputies assigned to the division are also available to assist any Local, State or Federal agency with a warrant service. Over the past several years, Deputies, assigned to the warrants division, have assisted the US Marshals Service with Operation Falcon, a nationwide joint task force comprised of Local, County, State, and Federal Officers with efforts focusing on fugitive apprehension. Deputies were sworn in as US Marshals giving them jurisdiction across state lines.
