Court Services

The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Court Services Division consists of 12 full-time and part-time deputies and 25 bailiffs.  Lieutenant Craig Charest serves as the Division Commander.  The division provides assistance to all local law enforcement and NH Probation and Parole within Rockingham County. They are responsible for transports to and from the Rockingham Superior Court and all holding facilities throughout the state.  As a service to the law enforcement agencies within the county, deputies also transport inmates to and from the six 10th Circuit Court locations.


The Court Services Division also assists in the transportation of persons held as an Involuntary Evaluation Admission (IEA) to New Hampshire State Hospital.

The Rockingham County Superior Courthouse is located in Brentwood, New Hampshire. The building is home to the Rockingham Superior Court and the 10th Circuit Court – Brentwood, providing criminal, family, and probate services across nine courtrooms


Sheriff’s Office Bailiffs are tasked with the security of the building including courtrooms, entryway doors, and lobbies.  Everyone entering the courthouse, as well as their belongings, are screened at the security checkpoint upon entering the building.  Bailiffs are assigned to the Grand Jury when they convene once monthly and assist jurors during trials.

 

Deputies and Bailiffs also provide escorts to victims and witnesses as needed.
