Meatball is Rockingham County DOC’s comfort dog. He provides comfort to those in need throughout Rockingham County.

For over 25 years we have had the same records management system (RMS) and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system called IMC that we have all loved to hate. Then on Tuesday we flipped the switch and changed to our new RMS and CAD Pro Suite. I would like to say that everything went off without a hitch but like with any major project and new system there is a lot to learn and still configure. Members of the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office that were on the product build team would like to thank the members of the departments that assisted on the build team, members from departments that lent time and support, Dispatchers, Deputies, Officers, Administrative Assistants that jumped in with both feet this week and started working with us in the program asking questions, showing us things that they learn and giving ideas on where to make improvements.

As you can imagine this was a high-stress challenge for our dispatch center as they still had to handle incoming emergency calls for service processing those calls in a new program and getting them dispatched without delay and I can tell our staff were up for the task and have adapted to the new software without missing a beat.
